WEDDING ANNIVERSARY COUSINS SHERI & JAMES YOUNTS
Text Box: We moved into our home over 50 years ago. It was and still is, a very quiet neighborhood. The surrounding area has grown extensively. Neighbors have moved out and new ones moved in. Surprisingly, a lot of our neighbors are either the original people or family members that have taken over after parents have moved or past. This story isn’t about the neighborhood, it’s about the neighbors. With nearly 40 years of an age difference, our neighbor Leslie who has been around since birth and developed a bond with mom that has been unwavering. While growing up Leslie was always around with her big smiling face, which was passed on to her son Brian who is now a young adult and just as kind. Because of the devastating effects that dementia/Alzheimer's on mom, Leslie has been on a personal mission to help wherever she can. Almost everyday for about two years now, she comes over and spends hours sitting around, devouring everything in site, laughing and joking and just being company with mom and me. Her big thing is the therapeutic qualities of Coconut oil, that she melts a glass of every night and has mom drink it, whether mom likes it or not (LOL). Both mom and Leslie interact extremely well. For years mom has said that Leslie is her second daughter. Now everyday mom has to be reintroduced to who her second daughter is, but it’s like a new adventure every day. It’s great having people that care so much that they would take time out of their own busy schedules to sit and help another enjoy each precious day.
